The Stingers were not only a minor league professional ice hockey team, they were the only major hockey organization to call Cincinnati, OH home. They used the Riverfront Coliseum, now under the name U.S Bank Arena, as their arena for home games throughout their existence from 1975-1980. The first four years of operation the Stingers played in the World Hockey Association, and for their final season in 1980 they competed in the Central Hockey League.
